Take the anxiety test - Dass 21
This quick and easy test can help measure if you are affected by anxiety, stress, and depression.
How can we measure or 'quantify' anxiety?
The DASS 21
DASS is an acronym for Depression Anxiety Stress Score. The DASS 21 (or DASS-21) is a 21-item questionnaire designed by Psychologists at the University of NSW to measure the extent to which a person is affected by depression, anxiety, and stress. The test takes around 3 minutes to complete.
Why take the test?
Your therapist may ask you to complete the DASS 21 before starting your TranquilMind program and after completion. This helps to provide a baseline measure of your anxiety and can indicate how well you have responded to treatment.
Available formats are the Dass 21 online and downloadable Dass 21 PDF. You can administer the test yourself. You will get 3 scores - a score each for anxiety, depression, and stress. Your scores can indicate normal, mild, moderate, severe, or extremely severe levels for each factor.
BEFORE You TAKe THE TEST . . .
Whilst you may have concerns if your results are not in the normal range, it’s important to note that interpretation of your test results requires an appropriate level of training in psychological science.
Furthermore, psychological tests such as the dass 21 only provide a certain level of information and are not used solely to make a diagnosis or suggest treatment.
Client-centred care is focused on seeing you as an individual, and not just a diagnosis, a label, or a condition to be treated.
To help you achieve the very best outcome, any test results are therefore interpreted in the context of your bckground, personality, strengths, and goals.
